May 3rd -

We headed to the southwest area this evening to visit with our friends David Gerald and Insurrection. They were at McNasty's in New Boston, MI. This is a nice pub with a an adjoining pool room and great half pound burgers. Gerald leads the group on vocals and guitar. His band mates were Mike Rupprecht (keys/vocals), Bob Bennett (bass) and Lou Eurns (drums). The guys are nearly finished with a new CD of all originals. We love this group and eagerly await the new recordings. Check out David Gerald and Insurrection at www.davidgerald.com.

David Gerald and Insurrection have impressed us each time we see them and tonight was no exception. They were at the Sidelines Tavern in Westland. This is a sports bar that is large enough that the TV's cause little distraction for those there to enjoy the music. David Gerald does the excellent vocals and guitar work. He reminds Spider of Larry McCray with his powerful vocals and dramatic guitar licks. Joining him were [Mike] Rupprecht (keys), Bob Bennett (bass), and Lou Eurns (drums). This band is solidly in a blues groove and is a treat to watch.

March 25th -

We have been exchanging emails with DBS member David White for quite some time. This was our first chance to visit with him and his band Insurrection. The gig was at McNasty’s Bar in New Boston, MI. This is a cool and friendly sports bar off I-275 south of I-94. White is a fine guitar player with a powerful and soulful voice. His band mates were Mike Rupprecht (keys/vocals), Sean Lavallee (bass/vocals) and Joel Warren (drums). The band features a long list of blues cover songs and had the house jumping and asking for more. Fine music, friendly bar, we enjoyed it very much. We will be watching for Insurrection at a gig in the near future and so should you.

The annual National Strawberry Festival auditions were held on Sunday at UAW Local 735 in Canton.

...blues rockers, Insurrection, hit the stage and proved why they're popular local draws.

"We'll be playing at McNasty's in New Boston and we've been together for two years and rocking the tri-county area," Insurrection guitar slinger David Gerald said.

Insurrection will be at Sidelines in Westland on Apr. 8.
