Hey everybody, At this year's Chrysler Arts Beats and Eats, they're hosting a "Best of the Beats" contest where David Gerald and Insurrection can WIN Cash and Prizes! All we have to do is get the most votes and we win. In addition to the cash prizes, if we obtain and large amount of votes, we will be guaranteed a return appearance at next years Arts Beats & Eats and be considered for later time slots or National Stage appearances. My friends, here's what you can do to help us get more votes. 1. Please e-mail a reminder to everyone you know, that we're performing on Saturday, August 30th 2008 at 12:30pm. We will be located on the Diet Pepsi R&B Stage. 2. You can vote on the www.bestofthebeats.com website. Then click on "Best of the Beats" and then enter in 'David Gerald and Insurrection, to vote, then enter your e-mail address. 3. Once you see how easy it is, PLEASE, "TELL A FRIEND" to further increase our vote tally. 4. Art, Beats and Eats has built us a unique banner, which you can also get when you click on that banner www.bestofthebeats.com. It's real easy to share it around the Internet. There's an embedded code on our vote page. It's real simple to use, just copy the code and post it on your Myspace page or add the code to a Myspace Bulletin that you're a friend of. You can also use the code to add the banner to your own website or blog. When someone clicks on our banner it will take them directley to our bands VOTE Page. Hey there again friends, I would like to ask all of our family and friends to help us out with their votes to get us into the final 4 of a band competition that My Fox Detroit is putting on. You can vote as many times as you would like, but the only stipulation is that you can vote only once an hour. It's like a popularity contest at first. But the final four bands go head up with one another in a concert style setting only with judges this time. The winner of that competition gets to open up for the southern rock band, Lynard Skynard at the D.T.E. in September. This is all you have to do: Go to www.Myfoxdetroit.com, click on entertainment at the top of the page. A page will open up that says My Fox Rocks, scroll down to (vote now) and click on it. Open up the letter "A" category and scroll down until you see DAVID GERALD AND INSURRECTION photo, click on it and hear our original song 'HOW I FEEL' then please vote for us. My Fox Detroit needs your e-mail address so they can send you a password to use every time you vote, for record reasons. The votes are stilling coming in and the winning songs will be posted on Monday August 4, 2008. The response has been great and much appreciated. The fellas and I will be performing at Albert's on The Alley this coming Sunday. That's a great place to eat and listen to good Blues. Come on out, you will enjoy the place. The CD Song List ballot has been posted. Let us know which songs you want to have included on your new copy of the debut David Gerald full release CD. The weekend at J DUBS was wonderful. By Saturday evening we knew we all would have a wonderful time and produce a good recording. You guys were loud and proud. We had a ton on fun! I'm looking forward to completing the project soon. There will be the CD version of this weekends performance released in about a month. Shortly after that, the DVD will be available. I will be posting several songs that we performed on the website for you to nominate for inclusion on the CD and DVD. Check back soon for a 'Vote' link that will be on the homepage.
